Here you will find all the important deadlines and information related to the Master program.
Remember that the specific dates for each year are provided by prof. Santambrogio during each meeting.
- first week of September: fill the form provided by prof. Santambrogio during the previous meetings. If you were NOT a PoliMi Bachelor student you should contact prof. Santambrogio for a preliminary interview.
- September/October: you will be provided with all the necessary information to complete the application request. DO NOT apply by yourself without having informed via email your Coordinator and the PoliMi-UIC Program Director.
- October: last chance to graduate in your Bachelor Degree. Submit your application via the UIC website (follow the instructions provided)
- first week of December: you will receive the confirmation (or the refusal) of participation in the Master program. In the first case, you should
- complete your registration to the Master program
- request the printed official transcripts (ITA and ENG) with stamps to your university
- if PoliMi Bachelor student add to the request that prof. Santambrogio will retrieve the documents for you
- if NOT PoliMi Bachelor student notify your offices to send the transcripts to UIC
- February: last chance to submit your English test score. Start the first semester of the joint Master at PoliMi. Make your passport (if you don’t have one) and prepare the documents for the visa (follow the information provided)
- March/April: define your Learning Agreement and apply as a Free Mover (provide departure & returning date, Learning Agreement). You will also be provided with housing information and a list of courses you can take during your stay in Chicago. Be quick to choose your classes, there is a maximum of students in each one
- mid August: arrive in Chicago – start your second semester of the joint Master at UIC
- December/January: submit the official UIC Transcripts of records. Whatever is going to happen next will depend on you and on your results 🙂
- May: from this date you can defend your thesis at UIC, then you will have to discuss it also at PoliMi (or in the reverse order… golden rule: discuss the timeline with your advisors)
